A DECISION is set to be made today on revised plans to bring 194 homes to Penrith.
In May, earlier this year, despite recommendations from planning officers, the Strategic Planning Committee for Westmorland and Furness Council turned down proposals placed forward by Story Homes for land between Inglewood Road and Centurion Rise.
Whilst five affordable homes had been added to the original proposals, bringing 29 homes, from 12 per cent to 15 per cent, the application was still ultimately refused.
New plans have been resubmitted which increase the affordable homes to 20 per cent alongside £30,000 funding towards off-site improvements at Fairhill playing fields.
Plans have been recommended for approval.
Westmorland and Furness Council’s strategic planning committee will meet at Kendal’s County Hall today at 10am (July 10) to discuss the proposal.
