Possible 'fuel shortages' are expected from tomorrow (June 6) as tanker drivers supplying garage forecourts strike over pay.

Around 50 Stanlow oil refinery-based drivers will go on strike between Thursday June 6 and Saturday June 8 after they were offered lower pay than drivers in other parts of the country.

It is expected that this "will cause significant disruption to fuel supplies."

The workers deliver fuel to Shell, BP and Esso petrol stations across the north west and Scottish borders.

Oxalis, the company they work for, has said it has contingency plans in place.

There will be further strikes next week between 13 to 15 June
