A WOMAN has been arrested following reports that a charity box was stolen.
The incident, which took place in Whitehaven, gathered attention on social media.
Several posts were published online about the incident and a suspect is now in custody.
In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "Following several Facebook posts regarding the theft of a charity box from a shop in Whitehaven, we have arrested the suspect this morning and she is currently being processed in our custody suite."
