Youths were detained after reports of them throwing eggs and ‘other items’ at houses.

Police said the youths were reportedly doing this in the Ceda Park area of Hensingham.

The police then went to the area and found a group of youths matching the description.

They initially ran away after seeing the police, but were found again and detained for searching under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, also known as PACE, for articles intended for the use in causing criminal damage.

“This type of behaviour within the community is not acceptable and the youths will be dealt with for their behaviour this evening,” a spokesperson from Cumbria police said.
