THE head office of one of Carlisle’s most iconic businesses is moving after nearly 100 years.

After almost 80 years at Old Croft in Stanwix, Carlisle, the head office of Carr’s Group plc is moving to Warwick Mill Business Centre, six miles east, on Friday, June 7.

Carr’s is an 'international leader' working with both agricultural and engineering products and the company itself works across a variety of industries to supply customers around the world.

The business itself was founded as a bakery and biscuit factory in 1831 by Quaker businessman, Jonathan Dodgson Carr.

The biscuit factory was sold in the 1970s and Carr’s has continued in the agricultural trade ever since.

Carr's have sites in Cumbria, at Silloth and Barrow, and across the world.
