A DRIVING ban has been imposed on a 20-year-old Eden Valley man after he admitted causing two women “serious injury” by driving carelessly.

Jack Graham, of Pennine View, Newbiggin, Penrith, committed the two offences on October 28, 2022, causing serious injury to the two females as a result of his “careless or inconsiderate” driving on the A686 at Alston.

At the time, he was driving a Skoda Rapid, Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard.

District Judge John Temperley imposed an interim ban and set the date of sentence as June 7.

In the meantime, the Probation Service will prepare a background report on the defendant, who was represented by defence lawyer Chris Toms.

The precise length of the defendant’s ban will be decided on the day of sentence.
