A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than twice the limit has been banned from the roads for 18 months.
Damien King, 37, was driving a Ford Ranger in Egremont on May 6. A breath test showed he had 90mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit to drive is 35mcg.
The defendant, of King Street, Cleator, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court.
King was banned from driving for 18 months, to be reduced by 18 weeks, if he completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
He was fined £672 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £269 victim surcharge.
