A BRAMPTON secondary school has celebrated a 'brilliant' victory at a North Cumbria Multi-Sports event.

A team of students from William Howard School scooped top prize at the Panathlon County Finals that were hosted by Panathlon Challenge and Active Cumbria at Penrith Leisure Centre on Wednesday, May 22.

The students competed in various sporting events against five other Cumbrian secondary schools, with the event run by sports leaders from Carlisle's Trinity School.

After the event, a spokesperson for William Howard School praised the students' achievement.

They said: "Our team performed brilliantly showing great enthusiasm and determination.

"They worked fantastically well as a team, supporting and encouraging each other and celebrating each other’s successes with high fives and lots of cheering.

"Their confidence grew as they progressed through the activities and every member of the team achieved some great scores."
