A group looking out for one of the city’s residential areas recently did a litter pick to clean up the community.
Stanwix Community Association did the pick on May 18, with motivated adults and children meeting at the suburb’s community centre before dispersing throughout to provide a ‘crucial service in community upkeep and environmental recovery’, a spokesperson from the organisation said.
“Participants were treated with free refreshments and an impressive variety of cakes courtesy of Shona Park.
“Special thanks are in order to the Cumberland Council for the loan of the equipment, a great help towards boosting the local area’s natural beauty.
“We are hoping to hold another successful litter picking event in the autumn, so make sure to check out the Stanwix Community Association Facebook page for more details,” they added.
