FANS of fish and chips are urged to nominate their favourite chippy for the News & Star's 'Best Chippy 2024' award.
Online nominations for the award will close at midnight on Sunday, May 26, and ahead of this deadline, Cumbrian chippy lovers are urged to get behind their favourite.

Following this stage of online nominations, News & Star readers will then be able to vote for their 'Best Chippy 2024' from a selection of ten finalists by picking up editions of the News & Star between Monday, June 3, and Saturday, June 15, with the winner set to be announced on Monday, June 24.

The competition aims to celebrate local fish and chip shops in North and West Cumbria and speaking after its launch, Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria asked readers to support their favourite chippy.
She said: "Who doesn’t love a chippy tea and Cumbria can boast having some of the very finest fish and chip shops.
