Cumbrian cricket legend Paul Nixon has landed a new overseas coaching role.
The former England wicketkeeper, from Langwathby, has been appointed head coach of Sri Lankan T20 team Dambulla Thunders.
It is the latest post in an eventful coaching career for the former Leicestershire star.
Dambulla will be involved in the latest edition of the Lanka Premier League with their schedule getting under way in early July.
Nixon, 53, was previously head coach of Leicestershire for six years while he has tasted T20 success in the Caribbean Premier League as coach of Jamaica Tallawahs. He has also coached Pakistani side Sindh.
The Lanka Premier League runs from July 1 to 21.
