FOR this Nostalgia edition we will be taking a look at one of the nation's most beloved fictional characters.
This week is Elmer Day which celebrates the iconic patchwork elephant from the beloved children's book series.
Elmer is an elephant with yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green, black and white squares arranged as a patchwork. He has a 'cheerful and optimistic' personality, and he loves practical jokes.
The first book was originally published back in 1968 and was inspired by the mascot of Bordeaux zoo in France.
The books have gone on to be published in countries across the world and are very popular in the United Kingdom.
They are often used to teach children about English and reading at a preschool and young primary school age.
These photos show how school children in Cumbria have enjoyed engaging with the books over the years.
