‘Several’ vehicles in Whitehaven were issued with parking notices over the weekend due to ‘obstruction offences’.

Police have warned road users to be 'mindful' when they park their vehicle.

Officers from the local neighbourhood team were out in the town over the weekend and issued the notices whilst on patrol.

Obstruction offences include parking on double yellow lines or blocking junctions.

Most fines have to be paid within 28 days but, in some cases, the fine is reduced if you pay within 14 days.
