A MARYPORT woman is now living the life she 'once wished for' after being reunited with her husband following the birth of her baby boy.

Ellie Aktas (maiden name Gorley), 24, met her 25 year old husband Oguzcan Aktas whilst working in a hotel in Turkey, Ellie as a member of the kids club team and her husband as an entertainer.

The couple married in January of this year, whilst Ellie was pregnant, however due to visa complications the pair have been separated, with Oguzcan unable to be at the birth of her son.

Speaking about that time, Ellie said: "The last few months in my pregnancy were hard without Oguzcan, mentally and physically. I just wanted to be with him and having to work up until I was almost due for his visa was the most difficult thing I have done and I’m so proud of myself. I would do it all again for the sake of my family."

Ellie has documented her journey on social media platform tiktok, with her profile gathering over 750,000 likes on the platform and some of her video's seeing over 1.5million views.

In April, the the 24 year old shared a heart warming video of her husband meeting their four week old son for the first time when he arrived in the UK and the family were united for the first time.

Ellie said: "Meeting him at the airport for the first time was the best feeling ever. I felt complete and like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders after the visa process.

"Everything is amazing now we are settled in our home together and we have began the life we once wished for."

Ellie has encouraged anyone in a similar situation to remain strong through the 'stressful and cruel' process and remember that 'love always wins' and has used her tiktok platform to help others in similar situations.

She said: "Anyone doing the visa application I wish them good luck because it’s a stressful and almost cruel process, if you don’t have a lot of money there is no way of living with your partner, but everyone should remember love always wins and distance means nothing when someone means everything.

"I try to use my tiktok to let people know how our long distance relationship was and how it is manageable and how hard it was but so worth it. A lot of people ask about the visa process because people don’t realise how hard it is. There is a lot of naïve people who think it’s as simple as applying online and they’re allowed to come over."
