CUMBERLAND Council has updated the public about upcoming highway work in Carlisle.
This will impact the Stanwix Bank area and begins on Friday, April 26, at 7pm.
A spokesperson said: "The project requires the installation of a new manhole frame and cover on the southbound lane of Stanwix Bank opposite Cromwell Crescent.
"The lane closure will be in place from 7pm Friday, April 26 until 7pm on Sunday, April 28.
"Due to the high volumes of traffic in this area, the lane will remain closed for most of the weekend to allow sufficient time for the materials to be set, which is essential before we can reopen the lane to traffic.
"This will mean that there will be a period of time when there is no activity on site.
"Cumberland Council wishes to thank the community for their continued support and patience while we improve the road network and apologise for any inconvenience."
