POLICE are appealing for witnesses to contact them following a report that a male made threats to other passengers on the 685 Stagecoach bus.
The vehicle was travelling on the A69 to Carlisle yesterday (April 24 ).
Nobody was hurt during the incident, reported at 5.11pm.
A boy, in his late teens, was detained by officers and later released while inquiries continue.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was on the bus at the time who may have seen anything suspicious.
