CUMBERLAND Council has been encouraging people to clean up after their dogs.
The council has taken action in places like Harraby in Carlisle and Workington.
Stencils have been painted on the ground to encourage people to clean up after their pets.
The painted signs show the image of a dog with the message 'Clean it Up!.'
The council has placed a lot of these stencils outside schools and community areas, as a way to help keep children and young people safe.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "Our environmental team has been in Workington and Harraby in Carlisle stenciling signs with bio-degradable paint.
"These colourful messages remind people to clean up after their dogs outside schools and community areas.
"The paint is temporary, so we can spread these signs across more places for maximum impact.
"Keep your eyes peeled to see them, and please remember to scoop that poop."
