"Providing a brilliant experience for our guests is our top priority, and we are always looking for ways in which we can enhance their stay with us, such as the experience breaks which have proved really popular.

"Our ultimate aim is to make sure that our guests have a truly memorable time with us."

Following its successful launch in 2023, the team will be offering the experience break packages for a second year on select dates this summer.

The create-your-own-break initiative includes private tours of the house and gardens, gardening masterclasses, as well as the horse-drawn carriage rides.

Owners Gerald and Margo Smith, who bought Netherby Hall in 2014, have overseen a multi-million pound renovation project.

The house and its walled garden have been restored, while the hall’s former outbuildings have been transformed into luxury self-catering accommodation.

The Smiths also own and operate the Pentonbridge Inn which is supplied with seasonal fruit and vegetables from Netherby Hall’s walled garden.

The Cumbria Tourism Awards aim to celebrate and recognise exceptional quality across Cumbria’s tourism businesses.

The 16 categories cover a range of sectors from accommodation to food and drink.

The winners will be announced at a black tie event on July 2 at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal.

Many of the winners will be automatically entered into the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025.
