A restaurant has revealed a new spring menu.

Hidden River, a restaurant north of Carlisle, made an announcement on social media about its new a la carte menu for spring.

Starters include the following dishes: tomato, fennel, and mascarpone soup; twice-baked Torpenhow Park house cheddar souffle with chives, and; ‘Nduja scotch egg with aioli and pickled cucumber.

Mains include: steak frites with wild rocket and sauce poivrade; beer battered haddock, chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas, and; potato gnocchi with new season asparagus, peas and broad beans.

For dessert, there’s sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream, and chocolate brownie with raspberry sorbet.

The restaurant suggested that the cheese souffle pairs well with a glass of Esk Valley sauvignon blanc, which it stocks.
