Cumbria-based charity, Rungwe Community Link (CRCL), is planning a hike up Scafell Pike in an effort to prepare for an upcoming trip to Africa, whilst cleaning up the local fells, and generating funds.

The group of 13 , including 9 students, is scheduled to visit Rungwe, Tanzania, this coming July.

Julia Lee of CRCL explained: "We're walking up Scafell Pike at the end of April as a full team to develop team building skills, collect litter, and raise awareness of CRCL.

"We're also hoping to raise valuable money for us to travel to Rungwe this summer - both in advance and as we walk!"

The charity has a partner committee in Tanzania, RCCL, which works with a number of schools in Rungwe, Tanzania who gather project bids for CRCL to raise money for. This includes everything from classroom building to local libraries. Both committees select students from each area to travel from Tanzania and West Cumbria on both outward and inward journeys.

The walk will take place on April 20. You can donate here.
