A popular northern charity are appealing for volunteers and fundraisers ahead of some upcoming events in Cumbria.

Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) help to save lives in the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

The charity relies on generous donations to continue its vital work, and ahead of events such as the Gelt Gladiator which are set to take place later this year, GNAAS are asking as many people as possible to get involved and raise funds.

Hannah Powell, fundraising lead Cumbria for GNAAS, said: “We’ve got an exciting calendar of events including Gelt Gladiator, Helvellyn Hike, a charity golf day and our annual ball.

“Whether you’re a resident, passing through, or looking for a holiday, we would love to see as many people as possible getting involved and supporting our charity, which is the only air ambulance based in Cumbria.

“As well as participants we’re looking for people who can spare some time to help out at these events, as well as other activities, to raise essential funds for our charity.

“Whether you can spare a full day or just a handful of hours, every minute of that donated time helps towards supporting our life-saving service.

“All the information you need about our upcoming events and volunteering opportunities is available on our website.”
