A NORTH Cumbrian man has appeared before a district judge charged with three counts of rape.
Michael Kennedy, 55, did not enter any pleas when he appeared before District Judge John Temperley at Carlisle’s Rickergate court, when the case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court.
Prosecutors said the charges to relate to various locations in the county and to have involved one alleged victim. The defendant, of Southwaite Road, Low Hesket, spoke only to confirm his personal details.
Kennedy was told he must appear at Crown Crown Court for a hearing on May 6. He was granted bail on condition that he has no contact with the alleged victim.
