CUMBRIA Police have been in Penrith, helping to tackle shoplifting.
Officers organised a Shopwatch meeting with town centre businesses.
This was to help to understand the issues that businesses face concerning shoplifting.
A spokesperson said: "Local town centre businesses met together at Penrith Sainsbury's and conducted a Shopwatch meeting.
"The meeting was very informative and issues of shoplifting and other incidents were discussed.
"Those at the meeting were treated to a free personal panic alarm. We are working together to fight crime in the town centre namely shoplifting.
"Thank you to the volunteers and local staff who attended the meeting."
