Cumbria Singers are gearing up for their concert featuring renowned works by Elgar and Fauré at Carlisle Cathedral on Saturday, April 20.

Following their lauded performance of Haydn’s 'Creation' in April last year, the concert begins at 7.30pm.

Elgar, a prominent English composer of the late 19th/early 20th century, is recognised for his pieces steeped in national importance.

Faure, celebrated for his influence on 20th-century composers, began demonstrating his musical prowess from a young age.

Alongside more than 100 choir voices, the British Sinfonietta Orchestra's 50 musicians, and three professional soloists, including Ben Davies from The Sixteen, will join them.

The concert will be conducted by Andrew Padmore, Cumbria Singers' revered music director.

Concert-goers can buy their tickets from Beksides Books, Penrith, Tourist Information, Carlisle, the Cathedral Gift Shop, and ticketsource.co.uk.
