THE BODY of an unidentified person has remained unclaimed at a hospital's morgue in Cumbria for the last six months.
Following a Freedom of Information request back in November last year, it uncovered that within the North Cumbria Integrated Care trust hospitals, only one body remained unclaimed: that of an unknown male.
According to records, the individual had been placed at West Cumberland Hospital since September 30, 2023.
It has been revealed the situation remains unchanged with the deceased being 'unidentifiable'.
Despite concerted efforts and the involvement of the Police Forensics team, the man's identity remains a mystery.
