A Cumbria Women's Institute has celebrated its 96th anniversary.
The festive gathering was held at Cleator WI, with invited guests from Seascale, Lamplugh, and Woodend & District WIs.
Filled with nostalgia, attendees paid tribute to the original WI members by wearing hats, symbolising the formal attire at historical meetings.
The festivities took place at Wath Brow Hornets Club between 1 and 3 pm.
On the agenda, president Mary Taylor warmly welcomed everyone, a couple of county news items were digested, and members were asked to stand for Jerusalem.
A lively atmosphere was maintained by The Yukes playing tunes for communal singing.
Members contributed to a delicious buffet, rounded off by a cake, ceremoniously cut by Mary Taylor and veteran member Freda Ball.
Always popular, raffles and quizzes topped off a delightful afternoon.
