CUMBRIA Police are investigating a 'dangerous' dog that was reportedly 'out of control' in Carlisle after a woman was bitten.

The incident occurred on March 22 at around 8.56am on Blackwell Road, Carlisle.

A woman was knocked to the ground by the dog, which then allegedly bit the woman’s sleeve and arm causing bruising and scratches.

The dog is described as 'large and brown', police added.
