CARLISLE'S hotly anticipated new lunch spot has officially opened its doors to the public.

Local lads Joshua Monk and Jamie Combe, who also run JDM Automotives and JC Car and Commercials, opened the new eatery on Rome Street on April 2.

Bridgeside Bites, located at Unit 10, promises a fresh take on lunchtime fare, with a commitment to using high-quality ingredients.

In a post on social media, the duo said: "We can’t wait to welcome everyone and hopefully cure some of those bank holiday hangovers with some delicious homemade food."

While the initial hours will run from Monday to Friday, 8am to 2.30pm, plans are underway to expand operations to include Saturdays as well as working on creating an outdoor seating area for patrons.

They hope the business will become 'Carlisle's new go-to place come lunchtime'.

Previously Joshua outlined their focus is squarely on quality.

"While we'll have the usual baguette shop stuff, our focus is going to be on quality.

"Unlike typical places with processed meats at lunchtimes, everything here will be fresh and handmade, even the cakes which will be made on-site," he said.
