AN event is set to explore how artistic and creative approaches can help unlock Scotland's historic stories.
The event, 'Designs and Declarations: The Art of Illustrating Scotland's Story', will take place at Dumfries' Ewart Library on Saturday, April 6, and will explore how creative approaches such as illustration and map-making can help in the understanding of Scotland's history.
The event is being hosted by the Medieval Bruce Heritage Trust and coincides with the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath which declared Robert the Bruce King of Scotland.
A talk with writer and artist Andrew Redmond Barr is also set to feature at the event that is free to enter but requires a ticket.
