Nearly half of all asked in a recent crime survey raised concerns about road safety and speeding, and over a fifth about anti-social behaviour in Carlisle.

The ‘police and communities together’ (PACT) survey, which aims to help direct the police towards crimes of significant concern, and to raise awareness of hwo these crimes are being tackled, has resulted in three figures.

45 per cent of respondents raised concerns about road safety and speeding; 22 per cent raised concerns about anti-social behaviour in their communities and; 16 per cent raised concerns about drug use in their communities.

“Your responses to our PACT surveys will continue to drive the work our local teams deliver on a daily basis to make our communities a safer place to live and grow up and to provide a hostile location for criminality,” a spokesperson from Cumbria police said.
