THE National Trust have released guidance as we enter lambing season.
Many breeds have already had their babies at the beginning of spring, however the region's iconic Herdwicks will be giving birth to their little black lambs from April into May.
You can help farmers look after their livestock by following the countryside code, and the National Trust have issued guidance based off this, they say: "You can help look after their welfare by keeping dogs on leads at all times around livestock and following the Countryside Code."
They further state that you should "leave no trace - take your litter home" and "leave gates as you find them."
