A 23-YEAR-OLD who was found unresponsive at a property died after taking a combination of drugs.

An inquest hearing was conducted in writing into the death of Corey Williams, of Melbreak Avenue in Cleator Moor.

He had been found unresponsive at George Street in Whitehaven on November 12, 2023 and his death was confirmed by paramedics just before 12.50pm.

A toxicology report showed that Mr Williams had a number of substances in his blood including cocaine and unprescribed drugs.

The combination of drugs caused Mr Williams to aspirate his gastric contents and suffer a fatal bronchopneumonia. There was no evidence that Mr Williams intended to harm himself.

The medical cause of death was given as bronchopneumonia and drug use was a contributing factor.

Coroner Kirsty Gomersal concluded that Mr Williams’ death was drug-related.
