A rock band from Carlisle, recognised as one the UK’s most exciting groups, are set for a big performance this weekend in the city.

Fat Dads have been making waves with their tunes, and the first four demos from the outfit saw them soar to national attention, grabbing the attention of Radio 1 and Radio X through word of mouth alone.

Physical copies of their debut EP sold out within 48 hours, reaching fans across Europe and America.

2023 started with a bang, as the first weekend in January saw the hashtag #FatDadsAFHF2023 trending on X (formerly known as Twitter) due to thousands of people wanting to see Fat Dads play at Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Away From Home Festival’ in 2023.

Their fifth release ‘Girlfriend’ smashed into iTunes’ top 20 on its release day.

Fat Dads made their first festival appearance at Kendal Calling 2023 and played to a packed and overflowing tent (the largest crowd that the BBC Introducing tent had seen all weekend) of passionate fans, all singing the words back to them – a remarkable feat achieved entirely without industry contacts, PR, or management.

They are set to rock another sizeable crowd on March 23 at The Brickyard, with support from local band Antics and Local Natives.
