POLICE in the Carlisle area have been dealing with several break-in incidents.

Officers have seen a rise in the number of break-ins in Brampton.

The police have offered advice on social media on how people in the community can keep their property safe.

A spokesperson said: "We have had a rise in reports of vehicle and house break-ins around the Brampton town area.

"Be sure you’re secure, lock all doors and windows before you go out, and ensure your house and keys are secure before you go to bed.

"Remove keys from locks and keep them out of reach and out of sight, not on a hall table. Consider keeping a light or lamp on if you are out.

"Make sure valuables are not stored in vehicles overnight. Consider installing real or dummy CCTV."
