Carlisle United say there is already a "long waiting list" of people for new executive boxes in the East Stand at Brunton Park.

Major developments of the stand are set to see new hospitality areas created.

The large-scale refurbishment is part of plans to revamp and modernise the ground under the club's owners, the Piatak family.

And there is already plenty of interest from people and organisations who want to take advantage of the new facilities.

In comments made at the recent supporters' groups (CUSG) meeting, chief executive Nigel Clibbens said there were "eight boxes planned with a long waiting list of interested parties."

In an official monthly update to fan groups, Clibbens said the current waiting list for the eight boxes was 15-strong.

"Terms are to be confirmed but pricing needs to reflect the investment," added Clibbens in the CUSG minutes published by the club today.

"All could be sold for a season or longer, he said. The cost of investment across the club is significant, and there was a need to give a return that reflected that.

"The price would have to reflect the standard and demand.

"The new boxes in the East Stand could free up boxes on the west side of the stadium. Hospitality capacity overall [at the ground] would be increased."

The Piataks last year unveiled plans to improve several areas of the ground, with the idea of maximising the East Stand's potential part of their major plans.

Large areas of the stand have lain empty since it opened in 1996, with plans for executive boxes having never ben followed through until now.

The plans also involve creating four new lounges and a boardroom in the stand, as well as creating space for a museum linked to the club's memorabilia project.

There are also planned improvements to the Warwick Road End and Main Stand sides of Brunton Park.
