A police officer suffered blurred vision after a laser was shone into his moving car in Carlisle.
Police are appealing for information following the incident which took place on Charlotte Street.
It occurred on February 17 at around 7.20pm.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it , quoting incident number 231 of February 17. You can also phone on 101.
"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
