HOSPICE at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland has announced that its popular Lake District charity walk, 'Summit at Sunset' will return in summer 2024.
The charity, which provides palliative care and end-of-life support across Cumbria, revealed that the event will take place on the Summer Solstice, Friday, June 21.
The latest iteration of the event will aim to emulate the success of 'Summit at Sunset 2023' which saw walkers smash their fundraising goal of £15,000 and raise £20,000 despite having to abandon their ascent of Belncathra due to adverse weather conditions.
This year, walkers will be guided up the UK's fourth-highest mountain Skiddaw by Lakeland Mountain Guides and are invited to reflect and remember loved ones on the charity walk.
Several local businesses are also set to take part in the Lake District fundraiser and Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland's Jenny Urwin thank all those who will be involved in advance.
She said: "We are so lucky with the support from businesses with events like Summit at Sunset.
"As well as a great fundraising event for them to take part in, it is also a great team-building experience."
Registration for the event will cost £45 per person and supporters are asked to raise £75 each in sponsorship, however, until Thursday, March 28 prospective fundraisers will be able to take advantage of an early bird registration fee of £30.
"We encourage our community to support this important fundraising event on our 2024 calendar and know that every step walked will be making a difference within our local community," Jenny said.
"Hospice at Home relies on fundraising events like this to continue with the mission to provide quality end-of-life care within the home and within our community."
