CARLISLE Matters has issued a heartfelt call to businesses and sponsors to join hands in transforming Bitts Park into a vibrant hub of activity aiming to benefit the community at its upcoming "Show and Tell" event.

Following a successful run at Currock House on March 3, the event is looking to expand to Botchergate on April 20 and then onwards for an eventful day at Bitts Park on May 19 - with the help of 'support'.

The events look to offer a free fun-filled day out for families through games, music, and activities, whilst also signposting them to useful information available within the community.

Stephen Dunn, who has been helping spearhead the project, said: "'Show and Tell' is a new community engagement model.

"The 'show' is bringing activities, entertainment, and amusement to attract the public (which is free), and the 'tell' is advice, signposting, and information.

"I love the idea that we can start to take programmes that can really embed in the community and get to the heart of the issues," he said.

In a bid to ensure the sustainability and growth of the initiative, organisers are actively seeking sponsorship from local businesses, in a way that it can benefit them.

Local music promotions company, RockWith, is already involved with the project and will be bringing live bands and a stage for the Bitts Park event.

"With your support, we can do so much together. Projects go away, we need the support to make things bigger and last.

"Any business, if you have a community pot, and you have intentions around that - come join in and see what we can do with that potential.

"I'd love to talk to anyone who would like to have a chat about this," Stephen said.
