Fand of traditional Irish songs are in for a treat on St Patrick’s Day in Carlisle.
The four-piece Now and Again will play their repertoire of jigs and reels with guest performances from fiddler and singer Anne Delaney, as well as Lynn Kelly who will travel from Galway for Friday’s event (March 15).
Organisers said that, in recognition of St Patrick’s North Cumbrian roots, before being taken as a slave in Ireland, Colin Singleton will amuse the audience with old northern English music-hall songs.
Some of the best-known Irish folk songs will feature, like ‘The Wild Rover’ and ‘Seven Drunken Nights’.
The family-friendly event will take place in the upstairs concert room, with its own bar in the RAOB Club on Fisher Street in Carlisle at 7pm.
