Carlisle Cathedral will be the hub for the upcoming 'Quirky Easter at the Fratry' event on March 8 and 9, offering shoppers a range of handcrafted, locally made items.

Being held in the Fratry, Undercroft and outside Cloister area, visitors from 10am until 4pm will find a diversity of goods from local businesses, including jewellery, home décor and gifts.

Organisers Tracey and Ashley, from Manor Barn Organics and All Things Nice by Ashley respectively, will also display their wares.

They said: "We are so excited to be back in the Fratry.

"Our Christmas Fayre was a huge success, and we have lots of amazing small businesses.

"Come and celebrate spring with us!"

In addition, the Cathedral’s monthly Farmers’ Market set in front of the East Window will take place on the first Saturday of each month, from 9am-2pm.

Promoting local produce, the Farmer’s Market expects a surge of new businesses, and will also host local artists, a will-writing service, and a "free" stall by Sustainable Carlisle.

For businesses interested in attending future events, information is available on the cathedral's website.

The Cathedral also houses an on-site Gift Shop open Monday to Saturday, from 10am – 3.30pm, selling local gifts, jewellery, produce, greetings cards, souvenirs and much more.

Online shopping is also available through the Cathedral’s website.
