Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into a recent spate of trailer thefts.

Cumbrian officers from the rural crime team and tactical support group ‘carried out arrest enquiries’, during which, cops seized suspected stolen property and cannabis on Friday.

They also seized vehicles they believe are connected to the thefts.

A 25-year-old man from Wigton was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property, theft and handling stolen goods.

A 23-year-old man from Wigton was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property, theft, handling stolen goods and supply of a controlled drug class B – cannabis.
