Cumbrian West End performer Dom Simpson had a starring role on ITV's This Morning this week.

Simpson and co-star Tanisha Spring brought their leading parts from Moulin Rouge! The Musical to the popular daytime show.

The 28-year-old and Spring gave a stunning rendition of 'Come What May' for a national TV audience on Wednesday.

It was part of This Morning's Valentine's Day show, with the programme typically watched by about 700,000 to 800,000 viewers.

It was Simpson's latest appearance on national TV following his performance on the Big Night of Musicals, which was broadcast on the BBC last month.

The performer, who is the youngest son of Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world of musical theatre.

After making his debut on Broadway as Elder Price understudy to Nick Rouleau in Book of Mormon, he took the same lead part in the West End production in London.

Simpson then landed the leading role of Christian in Moulin Rouge and, with co-star Spring playing Satine, has been performing to sell-out audiences in the Piccadilly Theatre since last October.

Dom recently gave an interview to the News & Star about his journey from a famous Cumbrian footballing family to the big West End stage - you can read it HERE
