PLANS have been put forward for four 4-bedroom homes in the village of Culgaith, near Penrith.

The proposed site for the detached homes sits in the area of Pea Foot.

It was submitted to Westmorland & Furness' Planning Authority on behalf of RBTL Ltd. on January 29.

The design and access statement reads: "The internal layouts of the four proposed dwellings will be configured to take advantage of the existing views across the valley towards the river Eden located to the northwest and southwest of the site.

"The proposed design represents a positive enhancement to the area. The proposed scheme is sympathetic to its location and neighbouring."

According to the plans, residents will also benefit from terrace areas that would connect the indoor dining and lounge spaces with the gardens, with the homes retaining the characteristics of similar dwellings in Culgaith.

14 parking spaces are being proposed with the project, which is situated next to five already completed builds.

The public consultation for the plans is open until February 28.
