The Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS) was called out to two incidents in Cumbria over the weekend. 

On Saturday, February 10, GNAAS's critical care team was called out at 10.02pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A686 near Edenhall.

A doctor and paramedic arrived in a rapid response vehicle at 10.08pm where they worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient.

On Sunday, GNAAS's critical care team was activated at 3.44pm to reports of a medical incident at Bassenthwaite.

A spokesperson for GNAAS said: "We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 3.59pm.

"Our team worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient, and the patient was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service road crew."
