A RESTAURANT near Brampton is 'honoured' to have secured a spot in the UK's revered Good Food Guide.

Created 14 years ago, the list is designed to celebrate the places that are central to the communities they serve across the UK.

It also recognises kitchens that cook fresh to order, offer creative, memorable dishes based on high-quality seasonal and local produce.

The Cedar Tree at Farlam Hall now stands alongside established exceptional eateries like the Old Stamp House and Lake Road Kitchen in Ambleside.

Chef patron Hrishikesh Desai at the Cedar Tree said: "We are honoured to be added to the list of Exceptional restaurants in The Good Food Guide.

"To be recognised by such an institution less than a year into our tenure at Farlam Hall makes me excited for what the future holds!"
