Carlisle's West Walls Theatre is set to perform a new production in May this year.
From May 13 to May 18, the local theatre group will perform Henrik Ibsen's 'A Doll's House'.
The play concerns the fate of a married woman, who at the time in Norway, lacked reasonable opportunities for self-fulfilment in a male-dominated world.
The 1879 play was a great sensation at the time, and caused a ‘storm of outraged controversy’ that went beyond the theatre to the world of newspapers and society.
The amateur production will be directed by James Issitt.
Tickets can be purchased online via the Carlisle Green Room Club website or from the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre. They cost £10, with curtains at 7.30pm.
