A discount shop in Penrith will be closing in the coming months, it has been announced.
The Works, located on Devonshire Street which sells arts, crafts, books and toys, will be closing in mid-April.
A spokesperson from The Works confirmed there would be no job losses with current employees being moved to nearby stores such as Carlisle and Kendal.
A spokesperson for The Works said: “We can confirm that we will be closing our Penrith store in mid-April.
"We have loved being part of the local community and apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure.
"All team members will be redeployed to local stores and customers can continue to shop with us at our nearby stores in Carlisle and Kendal or online at theworks.co.uk.”
Since the beginning of 2024, the Chopping Block, Wild Ivy Floral Design (with a move to online) and Ruby Rae’s have all announced closures of their physical shopfronts.
