A Carlisle pop up shop is set to continue championing small businesses in 2024.

Launched in 2020, the Lanes Pop Up, situated in the Lanes Shopping Centre, is an initiative that was launched with small businesses in mind.

Since launching, the space has provided small businesses with a 'prime' retailing location that neighbours large high-street brands and has offered shoppers the chance to support their local business community through the rotation of bookings.

A wide range of businesses have been welcomed into the space offering all kinds of products from candles to floristry, with the space even assisting some local businesses to take up permanent residence in the city centre.

Luna Amatores, Ethereal Scents, and Acantha Crystals are businesses that all initially trialled the high street through the pop-up shop and now have their own permanent spaces.

Korin, founder of Luna Amatores said: "My experience with The Lanes Pop-Up was nothing but positive and made me feel much more confident opening a shop on my own.

"I really enjoyed meeting new customers who I wouldn’t have met through selling online or at markets.

"Customers kept saying that Carlisle needed a permanent shop like this, which is when I decided to open up my full-time shop."

Almost four years on since launching, the pop-up shop is continuing to welcome a range of local businesses to the space.

During the first quarter of 2024, the pop-up space is set to welcome businesses such as Fairy Sawdust, JK Photography, Happy Juniper, and others.
