A charity gig which aims to promote four emerging bands from Cumbria has been announced for early next month in Carlisle.
The Access All Areas event is at The Brickyard on February 15, with entry costing £7 on the door, with all proceeds going towards Eden Valley Hospice.
It will feature Reavers - an original indie band from Penrith, Dazed - an original funk/punk band from Whitehaven and Keswick, Band Next Door - an indie cover band from Carlisle and The Spectrum - a high energy cover band from Carlisle.
This gig has been organised by local musician Rowan Borgia.
He said: "I think there's a lack of opportunity for young musicians to perform in Carlisle and I am really passionate about being able to give more platforms to young musicians like myself to be able to share our talent that is regularly ignored.
"Supporting young local talent and your local music venues is so vital to keep them alive, after all, young bands are the future of music. As well as the evening gig there is also an afternoon invite only gig intended for people who wouldn't normally be able to access a gig in a place like The Brickyard, hence why it's called Access All Areas.
"It's really important to me to help give opportunities to people who don't usually get the chance to be involved in live events. As music is so transformable and accessible to everyone I wanted to give them the live music experience."
Rowan chose to support Jigsaw children's hospital as it is a charity that is very close to his heart.
Mark Howlette at The Brickyard said: "Anytime The Brickyard can raise money for a good cause we'll try our best to do so, but when it's a charity right on our doorstop like Jigsaw Hospice, there's no question we'll do all we can to help raise as much as we can. It's great to see young people helping other young people. Rowan has already done a great job organising the event and putting a great line-up of new emerging Cumbrian bands together."
