AN AI image generator has visualised what it believes the average residents of seven Cumbrian towns and cities look like.

Microsoft Bing's Artificial Intelligence image generator represents the next leap forward in accessible AI technology, and allows users to input prompts and have them created into vivid images in a variety of styles.

Previously we asked this AI to create seven different Carlisle-based scenarios which included questions such as, what would Carlisle look like if it was transported 1,000 years into the future? And what would the celebrations in Carlisle look like if Carlisle United won the Premier League?

Now, we tested the capabilities of the AI image generator by asking it to show us what the average resident of a number of Cumbrian towns and cities - such as Carlisle, Workington, and Whitehaven - would look like.

And the results are proof, if it were needed, that we are one good-looking bunch.

Here we go...
